Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been practiced in eastern countries for 2,500 years. It is a traditional form of Chinese Medicine based on the theory that our body's motivating force (Qi) moves through a network of channels that run beneath the skin and that illness arises due to blockages in the energy flow.  Acupuncturists insert fine needles into points along the channels in order to "re-balance the body's energy", with the aim to restore health.

My first encounter with the Oriental Healing Art happened about 13 years ago while I was a student of General Medicine. I had an opportunity to observe, and later to be, an apprentice with a local ophthalmologist who treated his patients with acupuncture. I witnessed the great power of needles and dreamt of becoming an acupuncturist since then. Chinese say, everything happens in a right time and, I would add, in a right place, too.

My dream came true in 2004 when I obtained a BSc (Hons) Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine specialising in Acupuncture at the University of Westminster, London. In 2007, I completed a two year post graduate course in Chinese Herbal Medicine at LCTA  (London College of Traditional Acupuncture).

I have addressed a wide spectrum of health issues during my time in practice and I have also developed an interest in Fertility treatments, Pregnancy, Dermatological diseases and Facial Acupuncture.

I have been employed both by the NHS and Substance Misuse Agencies to provide Acupuncture to their patients. Together with my private practice I have done voluntary work at the Gateway (NHS) Clinic and lectured to Medical students at Barts. Prior to my Acupuncture training I practiced and taught Bodywork to both private and corporate clients.
