Counselling

Talking things over with an understanding, trained counsellor will support you to clarify your thoughts and feelings, make decisions and if necessary make major changes in your life. The aim is to offer a safe, confidential space and an opportunity to work towards living in a more satisfying way.

Counselling may include:

  • Addressing and resolving specific problems
  • Making decisions
  • Gaining personal insight and clarity
  • Relationship issues
  • Improving confidence/self esteem
  • Problems at work
  • Coping in a crisis
  • Working through loss and change
  • Resolving past issues

There are times when everyone needs space and someone to listen to them objectively, with acceptance and without judgement. Counselling provides this. Exploring your feelings, hopes, fears, relationships and choices will support you in coping with the events and issues in your life, and enable you to consider the options available to you.

 Therapist - Julia Peters
Julia has practiced professionally as a homeopath for over twenty years. Finding that she particularly enjoyed the ‘talking with people’ aspect of her work, she went on to study at Regents College School of Counselling and Psychotherapy, qualifying as a therapist in 1996.
Julia is now mainly focused on counselling, but finds incorporating homeopathic remedies and Australian Bush Flower remedies can really help to facilitate change. The homeopathic support is especially valuable when dealing with anxiety, depression and bereavement, as well as with more obvious physical conditions which might be contributing to the client’s overall low spirits. Please note that if homeopathy is not for you, then there is absolutely no pressure to use any of the above.

Julia has run a number of groups for new mums, and is experienced with the enormous pressures this stage of life can bring. Women may often find themselves isolated with little support; the opportunity to talk things through in complete confidence can really help cope and adjust to this huge life change.

Relationship counselling is also available; experience has shown that longer sessions, 1½hrs, work better here, hence the additional fee.

Julia is Accredited with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy)
and Registered with the Society of Homeopaths.

She practices at The Complementary Health Centre on Wednesdays, between 11:45am and 8:00pm. Individual sessions last for 45minutes and cost £38=, relationship sessions cost £55=
All appointments are normally arranged on a weekly basis.

To make an appointment, or to discuss whether counselling is the right approach for you, you can either contact the Centre on 020 8297 8887 or call Julia direct on 020 8292 3081.
