What is Counselling?
There are times when everyone needs space and someone to listen to them objectively, with acceptance and without judgement. Counselling or Psychotherapy provides this. Exploring your feelings, hopes, fears, relationships and choices will support you in coping with the events and issues in your life, and enable you to consider the options available to you.
Counselling or psychotherapy offers you the opportunity to talk, confidentially, to a qualified practitioner who is trained to listen to you carefully and understand and accept you. It offers you a safe place to help you to think more clearly about your difficulties and understand your feelings.
Though it can take courage, a therapy process can be relieving and helpful and enable you to find new tools to manage your life and problems.
Here are some other details about the way the process works. Each session lasts 50 minutes and will usually be on the same day and at the same time each week. Counselling is generally a shorter process and psychotherapy generally more in depth for a more substantial time.
