Feldenkrais classes and individual lessons
Feldenkrais group classes are movement lessons in which the student is given time to
explore movement to improve coordination.
These classes are called “Awareness Through Movement“.
The classes are structured in such a way that the student can develop more complex
movements without unnecessary tension. It has a gentle approach and people with bigger
limitations who can’t do Yoga or more challenging classes can often take part in these
classes.
The focus is on the quality of movement and free breathing.
Students are saying:
Feldenkrais…
… put myself in touch with my body
…set myself up physically for the week ahead
…teaches me a different and useful way to relax
.. .releases unnecessary tension in the muscles
…gives me a break from the busyness of thinking and doing
… helps with everyday sitting, standing, walking, yoga and running
… helps me with long Covid

Feldenkrais Individual Lessons do have a greater impact as they are designed more
specifically towards the client’s needs and wishes.
Clients say that the lessons are very calming and relaxing and prove to have a very
powerful effect even much later.
Feldenkrais lessons can have a wide range of benefits, reaching from less pain and more
comfort to improving physical and mental skills.
Rainer is a fully accredited member of the UK Feldenkrais Guild, having completed the Amsterdam International Feldenkrais Teacher Training in 2008. Since 2012 he is also a certified Jeremy Krauss Practitioner (JKA), a method to help children with difficulties and disabilities in their movement development.
My background is in dance and singing, where I have a wide range of experience in different approaches, both traditional and contemporary. As a dancer I have been working for many years in dance and theatre companies internationally, touring around the world and enjoying a variety of styles and genres. When I came across the Feldenkrais Method, I was fascinated by the way the method invited me to explore moving, allowing new ways of moving to occur and becoming more aware of the body and my surroundings. Feldenkrais has helped me in my dance career to prepare the body as well as to recover much quicker from exhaustion and little injuries. Nowadays the support of the method very much supports the work within inclusion projects I am leading and co-leading for Entelechy Arts Ltd (http://entelechyarts.org/) in Deptford since many years. I am running Feldenkrais classes (Awareness Through Movement) in Lee/Lewisham as well as giving individual sessions (Functional Integration) in the city of London and in Lee/Lewisham.
